THE Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage yesterday confirmed the programme for the burial of Professor Ngwabi Mulunge Bhebe.
President Mnangagwa is expected to preside over the burial of the national hero at the National Heroes Acre on Saturday.
Said the Ministry in a statement: “The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage wishes to advise the nation that the late national hero, Professor Ngwabi Mulunge Bhebe, will be laid to rest on Saturday, 25 November 2023. His Excellency, the President Cde, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa will preside over the burial.”
The two Vice Presidents, who are also the Second Secretaries of Zanu PF, General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Colonel (Retired) Kembo Mohadi, Zanu PF national Chairperson and Minister of Defence, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic community, senior Government officials and Vice Chancellors of the country’s universities and the academic community, are expected to attend.
The national hero’s body will be airlifted to Harare tomorrow and it will lie in state at Charles Gumbo Barracks, before burial on Saturday.
On Saturday, mourners are expected to be seated at the national shrine by 8am, ahead of the burial.
