A total of seven housemates, the likes of Lomwe from Malawi, Sharon from Zambia, Felicia from Tanzania, Miss P and Zeus from Botswana, Bhoke from Uganda, and Kim from Zambia have confirmed that they will be part of the entourage.
Zimbabwe’s Wendall Parson, the co-winner of the show, will assume the role of tourism ambassador when the housemates visit tourist destinations and resort towns in the country.
The tour is expected to be screened on ZBCTV as part of an image building project to assist the country in promoting local tourism industry to regional markets.
Xtra Media, a local productions company which is organising the tour, said they saw the need to engage the housemates as regional celebrities in endorsing Zimbabwe as a safe, preferred and ideal tourist destination in Africa
“Their endorsement of our country is likely to be well received by the region and the international market if it’s coming from an impartial party, who will give an honest and an unbiased opinion about their Zimbabwean experience,” Nigel Mavunga of Xtra Media said.
The Still Amplified Tour has been endorsed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and has the blessings of the producers of the Big Brother brand.
Other Southern African countries like Zambia embarked on similar initiatives last year by successfully hosting the housemates.
