Dandaro Inn was a hive of activity last Thursday when musicians and fans came to bid Jah Prayzah farewell ahead of his United Kingdom tour. Jah Prayzah is expected to leave the country tomorrow for a show at Maher Centre in Leicester.
Suluman Chimbetu, Tariro NeGitare, Baba Shupi and Norman Masamba came for the show that was attended by hundreds of fans.
The musicians took turns to wish Jah Prayzah a successful mission as he officially unveils his new album “Jerusarema” to fans in the Diaspora.
Chimbetu said it was good that international promoters continue to show confidence in Zimbabwean musicians.
“Zimbabwean musicians used to be taken for granted by promoters abroad and were sometimes duped but we are happy that they are realising that this country has got talent. We wish Jah Prayzah a successful tour,” he said.
Baba Shupi said it was good for Zimbabwean artistes to go and perform abroad to show the country’s talent.
“Our fans there need us and it is good for us to go and perform. It is also an opportunity to show the world our talent,” he said before he performed some songs.
Hundreds of fans who came to witness the event braved the cold night and had a good time, dancing to the music.
Jah Prayzah’s album “Jerusarema” is getting popular by each day with fans singing along to most of the songs.
Songs “Chinamira”, “Eriza” and “Tiise Maoko” are proving to be the crowd’s favourites.
Speaking at the sidelines of the event the musician said it was good that musicians and fans had shown their support.
