KART Sport Club hosts the 6th round of their championship this week, which also includes the final round of the ROK Cup Zimbabwe championship, at their home track at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

Racers will tackle the quick and challenging kart circuit where momentum is key, to chase individual glory on the day, while at the same time keeping an eye on the club championship positions.

The long straights, hard braking, and technical infield present ample opportunities for the drivers to demonstrate their race craft.

For the Mini ROK racers this weekend, the Championship winner will win a ticket to compete in the ROK Cup Super-final in Italy during October and will join 400 other competitors from 40 countries competing in this prestigious event.

The class has been as unpredictable as it has been exhilarating, keeping spectators on their feet with every pass for the lead from the three top protagonists Seth Rukato, Yaseen Savania, and Eli Pilossof.

Rukato goes into the final ROK round with a good lead in the championship with Savania hoping to make a good come-back after technical issues at the last race and Pilossof chasing his first win after posting the fastest lap times in every race at the last meeting.

Devin van de Linde and Eshaan Savania have both taken a step up this season and cannot be discounted from moving up the championship ladder.

The Kid ROK class for ages 6 – 9 years old, has been a big battle all season with three different competitors sharing race wins. In the championship, Zack Staples holds a slender lead over second place Rayaan Savania with Elroy Shamu in third after a late charge in the season.

With only 12 points separating the top three in the title race, all three drivers have a mathematical chance to walk away with the championship crown, so the racing is expected to be intense.

The club’s next generation of champions follows up the front pack and Manuel Mukori, Sheunesu Shambare, and Jake Edwards are all keen to chase podium positions.

In the fiery and competitive 125 Rotax class, where karts are reaching speeds of close to 100kph, the championship battle has come down to two competitors, Zaydaan Savania and Jaedon Masiyanise.

Savania’s consistency has been the key for him to be leading the Championship but with three rounds to go in the club championship, there is still plenty of opportunity for Masiyanise to challenge for the title.

Class newcomer Tawana Shambare is ready to prove that he has more to offer after his astounding win last time out.

The Pole Position ProKart class series welcomes several newcomers ready to take on the series’ favourite contender Moe Moosa who has been valiant for much of the year.

The class was introduced to bridge the gap between recreational karting and race karts has proved a successful concept and also includes a popular endurance series.

Racing starts this Sunday at 10am and finishes at about 2:30 with the Pole Position rental karts open to the public after racing is finished.
