HAVING virtually missed out on the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title, Dynamos are already chasing four big names for the 2024 season.
Coach Genesis Mangombe has seemingly done enough to secure a long term contract and now focus on strengthening the team.
Zimpapers Sports understands they are already making moves to secure more power upfront to bolster their squad.
The club is assessing the availability of players like Walter Musona, Khama Billiat, Donovan Bernard, and Obriel Chirinda.
Khama Biliat has not been active since walking out of South African Premiership giants, Kaizer Chiefs during the off season break while outgoing Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona is unsettled at FC Platinum.
Dynamos want to keep the majority of their current squad intact as they seek continuity.
They have also already started deliberations with a new kit sponsor who is expected to sponsor all Dynamos teams, not just the senior teams.
“The club is already focusing on next season. They want to ensure that they bring back the old glamour days and the foundation has already been set,” said a close source.
“A few changes will definitely come along the way administratively too as the club continues to seek a transparent means of doing things.
“They are looking to bolster the squad with a number of stars and they would want to land Musona and Billiat as their top targets. Very soon the club is expected to make the moves and they are aware of other clubs wanting also to secure the same targets but they believe they have a clear project that will convince top players to come.
“The case of Mangombe is rested, he is considered the man for the job and no other questions are being asked,” added the source.
Meanwhile, Dynamos have been given the green light to peg all their remaining matches at $3 for the cheapest ticket by PSL.
Dynamos are left with two successive home games where they will face Bulawayo-based side Chicken Inn in match day 32 and Greenfuel in Week 33 before playing away to Yadah in the final match of the season.
Part of a letter from PSL to Dynamos reads:
“We acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 3 November 2023 and confirm that permission to increase gate charges to US$3 rest of ground, $5 wings, and $10 VIP for your remaining home matches has been granted.”
