Twenty-five-year-old man Fact Lampton Dire has appeared before Bindura regional magistrate, Mr Amos Mbobo, facing rape charges.
Mr Mbobo remanded him in custody.
Dire allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman from Zuvarabuda Farm in Mazowe. The woman was on her way to Amatola Farm at around 5 am.
It is alleged that Dire manhandled the woman and tripped her to the ground.
He then raped her. The woman called out to her brother who rushed to the scene and apprehended Dire.
The woman’s brother handed the suspect over to the police.
Ms Patience Maria Chair prosecuted.
