WHAT is this that we hear about this other dreadlocked barber who was chucked out of his workplace due to failure to pay rentals?
Blabber has so much respect for people who know and understand the need to wake up every day and work for their bellies and families. This is the reason why Yours Truly has always held this dude in high esteem because he seems to be doing the right thing.
It appeared to us all that the bozo was earning an honest living simply because we saw him each day shaving people’s heads for a living.
Whatever you do, gentle reader, do it with all your heart, mind and soul, as long as you are feeding the body that works and, more importantly, as long as you are not stealing from anyone.
Sadly, not all that glitters is gold.
While we all thought that this dude was working for the family and earning an honest livelihood, alas, let alone the humility and respect with which he treated others, we were all mistaken.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that the boy was sent packing out of the salon he was operating from because he owed a substantial amount in rentals.
Given that he was a well-established barber, who drew clients from the well-to-do communities, it is surprising that he would not spare part of his earnings to pay for the place he was working from.
Blabber understands the pressures that come with city life, especially the peer influence that gives one the impetus to spend more than they can afford, all in the name of trying to earn inclusion in a certain class of society.
This may lead our poor colleagues into drinking whisky brands they can hardly afford, dating women of expensive tastes and spending time in places that are marked for the rich and the famous. Ultimately, our dear colleagues forget that their income just does not allow them to.
In the end, things fall apart, the centre cannot hold any more, just like what is now unfolding for our dear barber.
Whatever is happening to him, Blabber hopes and prays that our dear brother gets back on his feet, starts operating his business as before and, more importantly, avoids making the same mistakes.
Blabber can only remind you, my dear brothers and sisters, to learn to live within your means.
On this note, Blabber signs off!
