THE Biblical passage, which reads — “My people die due to lack of knowledge” — originally spoke about the Israelites, and basically conveys the message that a rejection of God’s laws and knowledge leads to destruction.
The “knowledge” in this context refers to spiritual understanding and adherence to God’s will, not just information, and its absence results in people straying into harmful paths.
Blabber could, not help, but keep thinking about this Biblical verse after getting details about what is happening at that other local tourism product in the outskirts of our beautiful city.
I mean the popular falls that are located in that other scenic area.
Blabber once penned an article on how many people, sorry to say, but truth is mostly women, have turned this place into a rituals zone where they conduct different sacramental activities, mainly meant to boost their chances of getting wealthy.
Some even visit the place in the dead of the night, pay their way through, and conduct some rituals.
However, there are reports emerging to the effect that several deaths have been recorded in recent times at the same place as people tried to conduct some rituals.
Yours Truly is saddened that people are losing their lives over silly things. Whoever told this generation that money is obtained through some funny rituals and not hard work caused us so much of the problems we are witnessing today.
Dear cousins, be thankful for the little that you have, have fun, enjoy your life, and always remember that out there someone truly wishes they could get half of what you already have.
Oh, by the way, what is this that we hear about this other fake prophet who is making a fortune out of threatening different people about “foreseen” bad luck. Word reaching Yours Truly is that this fake prophet is targeting the moneyed in our community and those with relatives in the diaspora.
In his modus operandi, the fake prophet approaches anyone he thinks can spare a few dollars, and tells them that he has received a spiritual message revealing some bad luck that their relative will go through.
The fake prophet’s diction is so threatening to the extent that the faint-hearted will quickly give them an ear and go ahead to source money to pay him so that he can intercede for them. Things that people do for money.
What a shame!
For those who could be wondering who exactly is Yours Truly blabbering about, it is none other than the fake prophet who resides in that other high density suburb named after some yesteryear traditional leadership.
The fake prophet’s name is synonymous to the word — ant. Those with ears have heard!
