BLABBERMOUTH: Things that men do for money

WHAT is this that we hear about this other clearing agent who is moving around sucking his finger like a kindergarten kid, the least expected from a sane adult?
I mean that one with a name that sounds like the name of a contemporary flamboyant football club that has reignited the good old vibe in our football stadia.
Yes, the one who used to prepare and serve us sumptuous braai packs at a local watering hole in the Central Business District – before he abruptly struck gold.
Yours Truly will not talk about his passion for dude bikes because avid followers of this widely read column already know who exactly Yours Truly is blabbering about.
While we all celebrate his Cinderella tale of rags-to-riches, we are wondering whether all that is being said about how he navigated from poverty to a comfortable life is true.
Blabber normally does not want to believe some of the stories about the use of juju by rich man simply because most of them are peddled by failures in life, who have nothing, but hate and jealous against some hard working colleagues.
But there comes a time when the stories become very difficult to ignore.
Not so long ago, our dear brother was said to be in the habit of waking up early, take his bucket, soap and water and drives to the border to bath in an open space.
This is the reason he is widely known as mushambi in their social circles.
Those close to the goings-on in his personal matters confided in Blabber that this was done as part of rituals or prescription ordered by a traditional healer who helped him move out of stinking poverty.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that he is now moving around sucking his thump like a kindergarten child, something that he never did in the past.
Again, this is a ritual that must never be forgotten if he is to stay on top of the game, they say!
His story is no different from that of this other grinding mills trader operating in that industrial area close to the robots in our oldest high-density suburb.
Earlier on, Blabber was wrong to believe that he was assaulted after being caught pants down with a married woman.
Today, Blabber can reveal that the dude was badly assaulted by his relatives in the rural areas when he drove his deceased sister on the car seat as if she is alive, yet he was taking her body for burial.
No wonder why he suffered multiple injuries including his right leg, which he still struggles with to this day. This is just unbelievable!
But such is the nature of news, it is anything out of the ordinary – bizarre – so they taught us!
At the end of the day, ladies and gentlemen, these are the things that some men do for money!
