WHAT is this that we hear about this other general hand turned driver whose arrogance and ignorance recently left us in tears as we mourned our beloved ones?
Yes, I mean that other ‘connected’ dude who worked as a general hand at this other arm of the State agency responsible for managing the employment, working conditions, and professional standards of all those who work for the State.
Uncouth, foulmouthed and rude as he is, all of a sudden, the good-for-nothing nincompoop woke up trading brooms and mops for the steering and gears.
His name has got something to do with horns. Inexperienced as he is in driving, the man somehow ‘convinced’ whoever appointed him that he was the right person to get behind the wheels, to drive a bus that transports the whole workforce to and from work on a daily basis as well as other work related trips on the highways of our beloved country.
We all know how the numbers in the bus drastically reduced as innocent workers started shunning this relatively cheaper work transport arrangement and, instead, preferred to part ways with their hard earned dollar to get to work simply because people want peace.
As fate would have it, he was the man behind the wheels when the bus carrying some civil servants on a sporting mission was recently involved in an accident and two lives were lost, while several were injured.
Perhaps the fault is not in him, but in the person who could not see that the person he was promoting was just not promotable!
Blabber loves self-edifying folks, and is always happy for brothers and sisters to earn their badges and move up the professional ladder.
Yours Truly has great respect for people who always find ways of uplifting themselves morally, spiritually, intellectually or professionally. After all, that should be the essence of this fragile thing called life until we are all interred in our graves.
But this has to be done within acceptable frameworks of meritocracy and anything outside that, just like our dear brother’s ascendancy, is tantamount to corruption.
As a parting shot, what is disturbing the most to Yours Truly is that if this whole department can preside over the reckless appointment of such a misfit within their own department, giving him the responsibility of handling the safety of human lives, will they ever have due diligence when it comes to their appointments of personnel to departments that are not directly under their purview?
