BLABBERMOUTH: When ill-gotten wealth slips away

WHAT is it that we hear about this fly-by-night consultant, who is a celebrated con-artist preying on the frail and old in the white and Indian community in our city?
For a moment, Yours Truly had considered reserving this space for some Ben-10s, who fought over sugar mummies at that other musical gig meant to shut down our beloved city.
Blabber had also considered writing about some engineers, employed by our city’s major service provider, feasting on young ladies at that other shopping centre, whose name has something to do with a known male person’s name.
Yes, the same shopping centre behind which some illegal gold mining has been happening. However, these are stories for another day.
Gentle Reader, back to our con-artist.
The buffoon has made old and unsuspecting clients his prey by night. If you have been in the city for long, frequenting the courts, you must have crossed paths with this shameless predator whose heart is as dark as his not-so-handsome face.
You must have seen how he makes the courts his second home, threading their floors with a gait that resembles that of a madman.
The list of his victims is now as long as the Zambezi River.
He spares no one and has no respect for anyone.
No wonder his name resembles rottenness.
Of course, he has recently undergone a rebranding exercise, considering how celebrated he had become in the city for the wrong reasons.
Apparently, his criminal activities did not start now.
Yours Truly is reliably advised that growing up in that town in the east of the province, feared for its rich population of traditional healers and witchcraft mastery, at the tender age of nine, the buffoon stole a whole TV from his neighbour, and took it home to his mother who, chastised the demon out of him.
Alas, the demon went out, only to skilfully bounce back in legions.
Yes, in the town of the departed yesteryear traditional healer to whom most of our mbingas owe their wealth.
Indeed, that traditional healer who was famed for his powers to give short-lived juju-inspired success.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that the buffoon, after trying his luck at this other successful old man who earned a name for himself from crushing material for the construction sector, started constructing a castle with stolen funds.
With the old man standing his ground, supported by a team of learned colleagues from our dear city, the castle is now said to have become a white elephant.
He is literally struggling to go anywhere further than how far ill-gotten wealth took him.
Dear Reader, the man has tried every trick in the book to grab a hard-earned business from the poor old man, but sheer luck was not on his side.
God is for us all, after all!
