BLACK RHINOS players are going to give everything against safe and secure Simba Bhora in their final Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match of the season at Baobab on Saturday as they seek a dramatic last-day survival.
A terrible start to the season has kept Black Rhinos in the relegation zone for virtually the entire season.
The arrival of veteran coach Saul Chaminuka later in the campaign saw the team playing with more purpose and intent.
The army side even had a good run in the Chibuku Super Cup before they were knocked out by Ngezi Platinum in the semi-finals. An impressive run under Chaminuka has taken the relegation battle to the final day and utility player Valentine Katsande says they are prepared to give their best and they are treating the match as a cup final.
“We are prepared to go and play to win the game. This game is like a final to us. We have no other option for us than to go for an outright win,” said Katsande.
“We have been fighting this all season as a team to survive relegation but I think this is the time we need to be united and show character if we are going to survive.
“It’s a tight one as several teams will be looking to win their games but we are not focusing on any-one besides ourselves. We hope we will be able to play our game and control the game to make it easier for us. So we have to fight every second and minute of the day such that we see ourselves through.
“As a team at this juncture, all we can do is to win this match and hope the fortunes will go our way. Our preparations are going well, and we are ready to play.”
