POLICE have slapped a 6-month weapon ban in Matabeleland South after shock stats reveal 12 murders, 184 assaults & 108 robberies in just 3 months.

From machetes to knobkerries, catapults to daggers—if it’s dangerous, it’s now illegal!
The ban covers Umzingwane, Beitbridge, Gwanda, and Bulilima Mangwe, stretching from March 29, with varying end dates.
Umzingwane (March 29 – June 25): 12 murders, 184 assaults, 5 attempted murders, and 108 robberies reported in just three months!
Beitbridge (March 29 – July 2025): 6 murders, 168 assaults, 13 attempted murders, 78 robberies, 57 domestic violence cases, and a staggering 158 unlawful entries!
Gwanda & Bulilima Mangwe (March 29 – April 28): Similar crime hotspots are now under tight surveillance!
Police warn that anyone caught packing banned weapons faces a fine of level five or six months behind bars—or both!
