2142: In Glen View South constituency, the voting process resumed after the resupply of the ballot papers for Local Authority at all polling stations in the constituency. The process is ongoing with scores of prospective voters still queuing to cast their votes.
2057: Preliminary figures so far show that more than 24 000 people cast their vote at the time all polling stations closed at 7 pm in Sanyati, according to the Constituency presiding officer Mr Pearson Waserirevhu.
Sanyati has 65 polling stations and voting began right on time Mr Wasarirevhu said adding that voting was free of violence.
Some voters failed to cast their votes because their names were missing from voters’ roll.
2051: Almost all polling stations in Mashonaland East Province closed at 7 PM save for three in Marondera central constituency where ballot papers came in well after the 7 AM opening time.
ZEC then compensated the lost time and allowed voters to cast their votes.
According to ZEC provincial elections officer Mr Collins Munetsi, there were no incidents of violence recorded across the province.
“Mashonaland East province was peaceful throughout the day, reflecting high political maturity and tolerance among the electorate.
“About 95 percent of the polling stations closed on time except for those who received ballot papers late. ZEC compensated the lost time to allow voters to exercise their rights.”
2035: Vote counting has started in Hwange capping what was a smooth voting process in which Zec officials said turnout was more than 50 percent although actual figures have not been provided. There were no incidents of violence reported yet. The district has three constituencies with a total of 84 924 registered voters, 43 632 of which are females and 41 292 are males

2030: Voting in most parts of Muzarabani North and South constituencies concluded early with only one or two voters trickling in every hour after 2 pm.
Voters across the province expressed their delight in the peaceful environment initiated by the Second Republic saying this had been a rarity.
Presiding offers also expressed satisfaction with the way they had overseen the polls.
The presiding officer at Kupatamukombe Primary School in Muzarabani North cobstituency Ms Gladys Madzivanzira said everything had gone on seamlessly.
Mr Tafadzwa Mubaiwa the Presiding Officer at Muzarabani Community Hall said voters continued to champion and maintain peace throughout the day.

1948: Voting has stopped in Gweru Urban, Mkoba South and North constituencies.
Queues in Gweru began dwindling around 3pm in most polling stations.
In Mkoba North at Mkoba Polyclinic Tent A and Tent B a total of 462 and 460 people had cast their votes. Only two people, one each from the two for failure to provide valid identification particulars
At Umsungwe tent in Gweru Urban Constituency Gweru City Council ward 1, as at 2pm, 200 votes were cast, 104 men and 96 females. One was turned away for not being on voters roll.
1946: Voting in all five constituencies in Gokwe South district including Gokwe Sasame, Gokwe Sengwa, Gokwe Kana, Gokwe Mapfungautsi and Gokwe Central, started at 7 am and progressed well throughout the day. Long queues were witnessed in the morning when most of the elderly people voted.
By midday, the queues had become shorter.
There were some voters who were turned away for bringing expired passports, those who registered after June 3, bringing deformed IDs, not being on the voter’s roll and not having an ID.
Others were redirected to their correct polling stations.
District elections officer Petronela Dube said voting had closed at 7pm in all five constituencies and counting had started.
She said results for members of parliament would be announced at constituency command centres while results for local authority would be announced at ward collation centres.

Zanu PF candidates appreciated the voting process and the peaceful environment which existed during the election period. Zanu PF candidate for the Magunje constituency Cde Supa Monga Madiro said he is confident of winning the seat.
Hurungwe Central constituency Zanu PF candidate Cde Richard Ziki said the Zimbabweans should embrace each other despite the outcome of the elections.
Hurungwe West constituency where Zanu PF candidate Chinjai Kambuzuma is battling it out with CCC candidate Mr Innocent Zvarevashe while Cde Madiro is battling it out with Kusemamuriwo Tonderai of CCC and Independent Candidate Mr Gabriel Jasi.
As at 7pm a total number of 584 people voted at Magunje High School polling station. A total of 38 people were redirected while 15 were turned away with 18 people assisted.
1903: Most polling stations in Mashonaland West are about to close with a few in Sanyati district that started late going to be compensated for the time lost.
At Chaedza Primary School, Polling Station B in Chinhoyi, voting closed at exactly 7 pm sharp.
The presiding officer, Ms Petronella Mazwazwa has declared the voting closed.

1855: As at 6.53 pm a total of 524 people had voted at Tent C in Mt Darwin South constituency. 421 were male and 103 were female. 2 were assisted, 2 redirected and 6 were turned away.
1815: As at 5pm, 19 602 people had voted across Chimanimani West Constituency with 11 374 of them being females and 8 228 males.
The constituency has a total voter population of 37 096.
Constituency Chief Elections Officer, Mr Donald Kutseza said 178 voters were re-directed to other polling stations while 273 people were turned away.
“Reasons for turning away voters included their names not being found in the voters’ roll, being in the exclusion list, bringing expired passports as well as photocopies of identity cards instead of the original ID,” he said.
Mr Kutseza also said 1 409 females were assisted while 516 males were also assisted.
“Overall everything has been going well, all the 70 polling stations in the constituency started in time and we had no delay in ballot distribution,” he said.
1802: At Mushumbi Primary Polling Station B, in Mashonaland Central, Ward 9 the Presiding Officer Mr Nyashadzashe Chitoro said as at 17:33hrs 223 voters had cast their votes after they started at 7 am Sharp. So far no voters are coming and they are just waiting for those who might come this evening. Electricity is there and they have a solar power backing system to ensure that everything goes on well.
1755: 510 People have voted at Mpumelelo Primary School polling station as of 5 pm.
Female votes are 256.
Male votes are 249.
Assisted votes are 9 (5 Female and 4 Male)
Redirected votes are 32 (17 Female and 15 Male).
Mpumelelo Primary School polling station is the only one at Mpopoma-Mzilikazi which started voting at 7 am sharp.
The station’s presiding officer Kudzanai Zviregei is happy with the turnout of voters.
“We started voting at 7 pm and we are happy with the peace that voters maintained during the process. 510 people have voted so far, as of 5pm. We are waiting for those on the ballot to come and exercise their rights,” said Zviregei.
1743: Queues have disappeared at almost all the polling stations in Zaka District, Masvingo Province, which has three constituencies, although voters continue to trickle in to elect their representatives in the Presidential, National Assembly, and local authority plebiscite.
The constituencies in the district are Zaka North, Zaka South and Zaka Central.
District elections officer, Mr Taurasha Mavenga, said by midday 20 000 voters had voted in the three constituencies without incident.
He highlighted that the flow of information has been impeded by power outages.
1735: In Epworth South Constituency’s Ward 4, a considerable number of people are still yet to cast their votes. A tranquil voting process is unlikely with some signs of violence. At Chizungu Primary School polling station, a total of 438 cast votes with 11 voters assisted due to various reasons, while 14 voters did not appear in the voter’s roll.
1717: As of 5 pm, 15 555 had voted in Zvimba West Constituency and of those who had cast their votes 6 887 were male while 8 668 were female. The nine wards in Zvimba West turned away 443 for various reasons including not being on the voters’ roll and having wrong identification documents. 815 were assisted to vote while 215 were redirected after turning up at the wrong polling stations. In addition, 32 blind voters voted in Zvimba West Constituency with 23 being female while 9 were male.
1658: As of 2 pm today, 5 471 voters, 1 607 males and 3 984 females had cast their ballots in 13 out of 19 wards in Tsholotsho North to report in by 2 pm. 626 people were assisted while 132 were redirected or turned away.
In Tsholotsho South, 4419 people were counted to have voted so far, with only 16 stations out of 83 stations checking in at 2 pm.
1636: Innocent Mugwagwa presiding officer for Mapfungautsi Primary School in Gokwe Central constituency says there was a low turnout in the morning but they are anticipating more people in the evening.
1627: No incidents of violence have been recorded across the three constituencies that are Marondera Central, East and West.
Most of the polling stations opened at 7 AM.
However, some voters from polling stations in ward 3 and 7 in Marondera Central went back home without voting after being told that ballot papers were finished. Normalcy has since returned to these polling stations after more ballot papers were availed.
Meanwhile, former Mozambican President HE Joaquim Chissano who is the Special Facilitator of Zimbabwe’s Debt and Arrears Clearance Programme visited a polling station at Nyameni Primary School, Marondera central constituency.
He commended voters for exercising their democratic rights peacefully.
He also voiced his concern over the delay by ZEC to distribute ballot papers to some polling stations in time.
1625: The number of people coming in to vote has declined significantly as the day progresses. However, people are still trickling into some polling stations to cast their votes.
Gokwe Central Constituency Election Officer Ethel Moyo says elections have been progressing peacefully since morning.
A total of 9378 people had voted by 2pm, of which 4380 were male and 4998 females.
80 people were turned away for various reasons including having an expired passport, registered after June 3, deformed ID, not on voters roll and no ID.
1618: Queues have cleared at Jerera Satelite Clinic Tent in Ward 19, Jerera Central Constituency, Zaka District, with 212 of the 382 registered voters having cast their ballots as of 15.38 pm.
One hundred and five of the 212 voters were male, while 107 were female. Two male voters were turned away for attempting to use driver’s licenses, and another man had an expired passport.
Also, a visually impaired male voter was assisted, as six males and a female were redirected.
Presiding officer for the polling station, Mr Edson Magweregwede, said the process was flawless.
1617: Mhandamabwe Vetenary Polling station, Ward 8, Chivi North Constituency is almost empty with 200 people having cast their votes. 1549:Dombotombo Hall polling station is deserted at 3:30 as voters cast their vote in the morning. Late voters as trickling in drips and drops while the elections officials are now busy with the coloration of the voting statistics.
1535:Matabeleland North Provincial elections officer Mr Richard Sibanda has said voting is progressing well in the province with more voters now tricking in to their respective polling stations to cast their votes.
1532:VOTING in Bulilima and Mangwe constituencies is going peacefully and the turnout appeared extremely high, with long lines of voters forming outside polling stations when they opened at 7am.
By early afternoon, voters in the two constituencies were still casting their ballots.
Speaking as she queued at a Nyele Primary School Ms Auxilia Tshuma (21), a first time voter said: “I am very happy since is my first time to vote”.
Aspiring Zanu PF candidate for Bulilima Constituency Cde Dingumuzi Phuti said the constituency belongs to Zanu PF and he was confident that he will win resoundingly since the party has done enough groundwork to win the hearts of the electorate.
Also noteworthy, queues in the two constituencies were mainly made up of female voters.
In an interview presiding officer at Tokwane Primary School under Ward 4 Bulilima Constituency, Matabeleland South province, Themba Napoleon Moyo said they observed a longer than usual queue in the morning after the polling station was opened at 7am. To allow Zimbabweans living in the neighbouring Botswana to vote the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) set up a polling station at Nxele Primary School near the Plumtree Border Post.
1525:Its 3.23 pm and the polling station here at Nyaningwe Secondary School, Ward 30, Chivi Central Constituency is virtually empty. Presiding Officer Mr Amnon Mapaike says over 500 people have voted out of about 800 registered. The polling station will remain open until stipulated times.

1324:In St Mary’s Chitungwiza voters are enduring the scorching heat waiting to cast their votes. The queues were as a result of the ballot papers that were delivered late. The voting process is progressing well peacefully.
1321:As at 12pm, 176 people had voted at Mutoranhembe primary. Of the voters 95 were female while 81 were male. Presiding officer, Jealous Mupaka said nine people were assisted while seven were turned away.

1308:At Masenyane Primary School polling station in Lupane West constituency, the presiding officer, Mr Stanford Svosve, revealed that by mid day, they had recorded 57 voters comprising of 24 male and 33 female. The polling station has 264 registered voters .
1246: At least 236 voters had cast their votes at Siadindi Primary School polling station in Binga South Constituency. Election officers say 118 women and 118 men had voted at the time. The news crew observed that as the day was passing by more women were visiting the polling station compared to men.
Also young people seem to be fewer than the elderly electorate.
1241: Masvingo Deputy Elections Officer Mr Maxwell Ncube said elections in Masvingo’s 7 districts are going on well despite network challenges in some areas.
He said no cases of violence have been recorded so far at the Provincial Command Centre.
They are yet to update on the latest number of people who have voted so far in the province.
In Masvingo Urban, all polling stations opened at exactly 7 am.

1209: In Mazowe South Constituency, 1664 voters had cast their votes with 41 illiterate persons having been assisted while seven visually impaired having been helped. At least 10 people were turned away for various reasons while five were redirected as at 9 am.
1149: Presiding Officer at Rutenga Primary A, Ward 18 Mwenezi East Constituency Ms Natsai Chidhahnguro says 299 people had cast their votes at 11 am. 145 males and 154 females with 2 people assisted. Voting appears to have slowed down in most polling stations in Chivi and Mwenezi districts largely due to increasing temperatures. All visited stations are reporting a smooth voting process with the majority opening voting halls at 7 pm with all adequate material. A snap survey shows that polling stations in the two districts are separated by an average of 3 km in rural wards and an average of 1,5 km in urban/growth points/towns.
1133: There have been long queues at Mvundlala Primary in Tsholotsho since polls opened in the morning. By 10 am, 126 voters, 60 male and 66 female, had cast their ballots. 14 people have been assisted while one was denied.
1119: Gutu West is not having National Assembly Elections today, following the passing on of one of its independent candidates, John Mutonho.
The constituency will be having a by-election after the Harmonised Elections. The constituency has five independent candidates for Local Authority seats.
1114: All Polling Stations opened without problems with each Constituency recording an average of 1 500 people in queues early morning.
All constituencies have reported a peaceful start with cases of assault and confiscation of personal items trickling in now from Gutu West, Central and East.
However, in Gutu West, Ward 5 Independent Local Authority candidate Burutsa brought a complaint at the District Command Centre about people campaigning outside the Polling station radius at Tungamirai Polling station.
1039: Presiding Officer for Ndeme Tuckshop Tent Polling Station, Mr Joseph Nemutenzi said a total of 175 people had by 10 am voted with the bulk of them being females. Only two people had been turned away after failure to find their names in the voters’ roll. 36 voters were assisted. The station expects to meet its target of 534 people voting by the end of voting day.
1037: Voting has not started at Roman Catholic, Holy Trinity Church in Cowdray Park. Some voters are milling around the polling station, while some have given up and left for their respective homes. Some of the voters say they arrived as early as 6 am.
1035: Presiding officer Mrs Ruvimbo Kanyuchi said 11 people have been assisted in voting while two others had been redirected to other polling stations at Polling Station A at Tsungubvi Primary School in Mazowe South, Ward 17 as at 10 am.
Three have been turned away for having defaced national identity card or having been on the exclusion list.
1034: The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has announced that while polling has commenced some stations did not open on time due to the late deployment of election material.
In a statement, ZEC said the delays in the opening have largely been caused by delays in the printing of the ballot paper arising from numerous Court challenges. This has been the case with Harare and Bulawayo provinces.
1022: By 10: 00 AM a total of 152 voters had cast their ballots at Mawurunge Business Centre tent polling station in Chirumhanzu Constituency.

1000: Ward 18 Shamva South polling station at Shamva Agriculture College is characterised by a snaking queue. People are saying the process is slow and many people have come to vote. The presiding officer Mrs Disderia Dondofema said voting started at 7 am and the environment is peaceful.

0940: Bright Ndlovu (22) in Gwanda-Tshitaudze Constituency who is a first-time voter said he is delighted to have managed to cast his vote for the first time. He said he could not participate in the 2018 harmonised elections as he was below age. Ndlovu said the process was easy as the polling agents guided him through. Ndlovu said it is crucial for youths to participate in the election process.
0936: Voting is yet to start due to logistical issues at Matshayisikova Primary School in the Luveve suburb of Bulawayo as ballots papers are yet to be delivered.
0936: It is all systems go in Chirumhanzu Constituency as voting has started at the jurisdiction’s 74 polling stations.
The polling stations are being manned by an average of eight people who by 7 am had completed the set-up to allow voters to cast their votes.

0850: The leader of the opposition Republican Party of Zimbabwe, Kwanele Hlabangana who just cast his vote at the Burnside Garage polling station in Bulawayo says he is happy with the way the electoral process is going thus far.
“My observation is that it’s been peaceful, and I hope we continue with the peaceful environment so that we have undisputed elections at the end of the day.”
