B-Metro Reporter

FEAR has gripped Pumula OLD suburb in Bulawayo after a savage stabbing left one man dead and a mysterious suspect known only as Mhlope on the run.

Police are now appealing to the public for any leads that could help track down Mhlope, who is wanted in connection with a brutal murder that occurred on the evening of 10 April 2025 in a bushy area near Pumula Old Shops.

According to national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, an argument between the suspect and the now-deceased quickly turned deadly when Mhlope allegedly pulled out an unknown sharp object and viciously stabbed the victim in the chest and stomach.

The injured man was rushed to a hospital in Bulawayo, but tragically died while receiving treatment.

“We are urging anyone with information on Mhlope’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station. All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” said the police spokesperson.

Locals say Mhlope is a familiar face in the area, but vanished without a trace after the incident. Some residents are living in fear, suspecting he may still be lurking nearby.

Police are tightening their dragnet and are hopeful the community will come forward with crucial information that could bring the fugitive to justice.
