This year’s edition of the Selekta Base Blowout Festival is set to deliver a unique fusion of motorsport, music and lifestyle, raising the bar for local motorsport events.

The festival, set for May 3 at Borrowdale Racecourse, will be headlined by the “Next Level – Battle of the Spinners 2026 Championship”, which is expected to draw top spinning drivers from across the country.

Event organiser, Arnold ‘Selekta Base’ Chingwerewe, said the event is designed to go beyond the traditional car show format.

“Extreme Entertainment presents the Selekta Base Blowout Festival—an exceptional, high-energy showcase of automotive excellence, music, and lifestyle,” he said.

“This premier event goes beyond a traditional car show, delivering a dynamic and immersive experience that culminates in the prestigious Battle of the Spinners 2026 Championship.”

Selekta Base said the championship will feature some of the country’s finest drivers from Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Kwekwe, Masvingo and Chitungwiza competing for top honours.

“Attendees will witness top-tier drivers competing at the highest level for championship honours and the grand prize, while international guest drivers will add an extra layer of excitement with electrifying displays of precision driving and skill,” he said.

Apart from the spinning action, the festival will also offer a strong entertainment line-up, with performances from popular artistes including Enzo Ishall, Atenda Chinx and San Wav.

An array of DJs will also keep revellers entertained throughout the day.

Selekta Base said the event brings together motorsport and entertainment into one platform.

“The Selekta Base Blowout Festival brings together motorsport, entertainment and lifestyle in one unforgettable experience, setting a new benchmark for events of its kind,” he said.

The festival is expected to attract huge crowds of motorsport enthusiasts and music lovers.
