BMX for Championships for Bulawayo

BULAWAYO will this weekend play host to the Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) 2024 BMX Championships at Busters Bicycle Park in Bulawayo.

Three countries have confirmed their participation in what is expected to be fierce competition for points towards qualifying for the Paris Olympics in July.

According to Kudakwashe Mswaka the spokesperson for the hosts and organisers Algeria, Morocco and South Africa will battle it out with Zimbabweans.

Mswaka is the Cycling Zimbabwe BMX representative.

This comes on the back Zimbabwe successfully hosting the 2022 and 2023 BMX African Championships.

“This year, participation in the Elites category will earn points for the participating countries towards qualification to the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris, France” said Mswaka.

Zimbabwe has a number of Olympic hopefuls participating.

These include:

Women Elites representing Zimbabwe

Hana Taylor, Helen Mitchell, Ashleigh Gore, Kudakwashe Mswaka, Ruvimbo Mtasa.
