HARARE-based BN Soccer Academy is setting up base in Bulawayo from September 1 after two successful holiday camps which attracted over 50 children.

The academy which has been running for over 25 years under the stewardship of Bekhimpilo Nyoni, had a camp at St Thomas Aquinas in April and followed up with another two weeks ago. Nyoni said he was impressed with the talent and response they have received from the City of Kings and Queens.

“In the trials we held for the Association of Trust School at MCC Gweru, Bulawayo contributed five players, I am quite happy,” said Nyoni.

He said the attendance at the second holiday football camp in Bulawayo was very good with 40 having attended on the first day. More children came in the next four days leaving Nyoni convinced there was appetite for his product.
Nyoni said unlike other academies, he has a syllabus for development that is followed to the letter with evaluations for both players and coaches.

“We are going to be here for a long time, starting from 1 September up to December, the BN Academy will be having training at St Thomas Aquinas every Saturday,” said Nyoni.

During the recent camp, he was assisted by Kudzai Mandire, Goodson Gama and legend Godfrey Paradza. Sam Zulu, a teacher at a private school in the city will be the administrator of the project.
