THE body of a 47-year-old Glen View man was found in a sewer septic tank in his garden – EIGHT days after he was reported missing.
Ernest Gariwa was reported missing an hour after he returned from a Johanne Masowe yeJerusalem church service last week.
He arrived home in the company of his wife, Nomah Chapendama, 47.
Then, just an hour later, Gariwa went missing.
Chapendama discovered her husband’s body on Monday when she opened a septic tank sewer breather in their garden when she was weeding.
The body was in state of decomposition.
It was found in a seating position inside the septic tank breather with blood on the right chest and a kitchen knife, with brown handle, placed on the right collarbone.
A deep stab wound was found on the deceased’s throat.
Chapendama postively identified the body of her missing husband.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating a suspected murder case involving a man reported missing and found dead in Glen View.
“The deceased’s body was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital for a post-mortem.
“More details will be released in due course,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
