A STELLAR line up of Zimbabwe’s top body-building athletes is expected at the Marume Classic at the Zimbabwe College of Music tomorrow.

The Marume Classic is the brainchild of the four-time Mr Zimbabwe and six-times Mr Iron-man winner, Givemore Marume will mark its fifth anniversary.

Marume said all is in place for the tournament which has become an annual event on the The National Federation of Zimbabwe Body-building and Fitness (NFZBBF) calendar.

“The preparations of this year’s event of Marume Classic are going on well and we are ready to host the event. It is the fifth edition and I am happy with the progress so far when it comes to the response I am getting from the athletes who wants to take part as well as the sponsors, the stakeholders as a whole of the sport responding positively.

“The feedback I am getting from people who are in gyms who support athletes and who wants to come for the show is amazing.

“I am waiting to receive athletes now who will be travelling from Zambia to come and take part as well as other athletes from Malawi so that is a positive response from the region that they value the Marume Classic contest.

“I am excited about the whole thing. Apart from that we are going to be receiving athletes from all over Zimbabwe,” said Marume.

Seasoned body-builder Noah Dzvokora scooped the main prize in the Senior Men overall category of the last edition held in 2022.

The 31- year-old Chitungwiza based Dzvokora won against Aaron Musarurwa, Darlington Mukanwa and former title holder Nunurai Masosonere who were in the top four last year.

Winners in the Marume Classic categories will earn the right to contest at the National Championships as well as the Arnolds Classic Africa.
