Bogus land dealers arrested

“On December 1, 2011 the accused further went to the Registrar of Companies where they misrepresented that the complainant was an ex-member of the company and they filed a CR14 form stating new changes indicating that the major shareholder had resigned,” Insp Sabau said.
They allegedly sold one stand to three or more home seekers, Insp Sabau said.
This was later discovered by Mr Mureza and a report was made to the police leading to their arrest.
Cases of bogus land developers and co-operatives are on the increase and unsuspecting home seekers have lost millions of dollars.
The bogus land developers and housing co-operatives are selling stands to desperate home seekers although the land belongs to the State and cannot be sold by individuals.
Owing to high property prices in Zimbabwe, home seekers have formed co-operatives.
