Bongani gears up for Miss World

Bongani is expected to leave for China early next month since all contestants are expected in camp not later than July 18.
Miss Zimbabwe Trust board member Paxina Kalulu assured Zimbabweans that everything was in order.
“Everything is in order, except for a few things that need polishing.

“Her preparations are at an advanced stage and she will meet the deadline for the boot camp.
“At the moment Bongani is undertaking her grooming and mentoring programme among other prerequisites,” said Paxina.
She said MZT was in the process of liaising with designers who are supplying Bongani’s wardrobe.

“We want her to lift our flag high so we are making sure we get the best out of her.
“We are in the process of doing hotel bookings and hopefully we will complete that by end of June,” she said.

However, Bongani could not be reached for comment as her mobile phone.
The Bulawayo-born stunner holds an honours degree in Development Studies.

She was crowned the queen ahead of first princess Ketina Nhamburo and second princess Ruvimbo Katiyo at the Harare International Conference Centre.
Last year Zimbabwe was represented by Malaika Mushandu who managed to raise the flag high and finished in the top 15 of the pageant.

Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela was crowned Miss World 2011 while Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Ruais grabbed the first runner-up title and Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Perez being the second runner-up.

Former Miss World participants include Hollywood actress Halle Berry (1986 finalist), Zilin Zhang (2007), Aishwarya Rai (1994) and Bollywood star Ann Sidney (1964).
