Book Cafe hosts Star FM’s Otis & R Kay

Star FM’s Drive Time host Otis Fraser and producer R Kay will be rocking the Book Cafe this Sunday for what’s  been dubbed “The Sunday Mix”. The show starts at 1pm with Otis aka The Flow throwing a “mash-up” of old school R’n’B, soul  and house tunes. “We have teamed up with Otis this Sunday to give music lovers a treat this festive season. It is a show that is aimed at bringing back the memories from the days gone by ad then later we change the tempo with  some dance tracks to keep the party going,” R Kay said.

R Kay, who is also known to Star FM listeners as the Radio Doctor, will be playing the hits just the way music lovers like it.
Although he’s not known as a club DJ, R Kay has been working with a lot of Zimbabwean artistes  on the production side of things.

However, it is his knowledge of music that sets him apart from the rest and those who love Zimbabwean music  will be more than happy when R Kay takes to the turntables.

“The Flow” is expected to serenade music lovers with his flawless mixes and new tracks doing the rounds on the international scene.
It is always a joy to listen to “The Flow” especially when he throws down some serious mixes, be it R’n’B, hip-hop, house or dancehall.

Over the years, “The Flow” has been staging gigs in London and Leeds over the years.
A part-time producer, he shot to fame as a radio and club DJ in the early 90s, having been a hit on then Radio 3 (Power FM) and ZBCTV’s Teen Scene.

“The Flow” was one of the most versatile presenters in the country and his programmes were always were followed, especially by the youths.

He popularised urban music and his use of remixing popular songs made him a household name.
He left Zimbabwe for South Africa where he produced “Tsodiyo” and “Final Battle” for the late Lebo Mathosa of Boom Shaka and Bongo Muffin, respectively.

While also in South Africa he was very live on the club scene where he rubbed shoulders with some of that country’s finest.
He then moved to Botswana where he continued with television broadcasting and radio work.

He has also contributed to the pioneering projects of other producers, including Skizo.
