Border play at Maglas

DEBUTANTES Border Strikers’ clash against Chicken Inn has been moved to Maglas tomorrow. Their ground Dulibadzimu is yet to pass the test to host Premiership games. Premier Soccer League chief executive Kenny Ndebele confirmed the move. “Our grounds committee was at Dulibadzimu this morning. We are still waiting for their report, meaning the stadium has not yet been approved to handle Castle Lager Premiership matches,” said Ndebele.

The move to Maglas will be sweet news to Shabanie Mine fans and the Zvishavane community. Chicken Inn could also use Maglas as their home ground.

“We now have five teams in Bulawayo and we do not have as many fans. We are considering moving to Maglas and using it as our home ground. We know that some Shabanie Mine fans enjoyed the rivalry between their team and FC Platinum and we want to capitalise on that.

Our sponsors also have business interests in the mining town and I don’t think it will be a big issue,” said Tavengwa Hara, the Chicken Inn secretary-general.
