Akbay demands his Wheels!
After masterminding Bossoas ascent to the top of the log, Highlanders gaffer Erol Akbay is now ready to take on the countryas roads amid revelations by the clubas chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede that the gaffer has demanded that the club should buy him a vehicle.
The Dutch coachas charges produced some top drawer performances taking the team to the apex of the log standings.
Itas good for his contract because he signed a two year performance-based deal at the beginning of the year.
a?Our head coach and the entire technical department have been doing well. At first Erol (Akbay) had little knowledge about Zimbabwe and in particular Bulawayo.
a?Since his arrival he was being driven to and from work. Now he seems to have acclimatised well and in that regard has asked the club to buy him his personal car,a? said Gumede.
The veteran football administrator took some time asking the entire black and white family to consider contributing cash towards the purchasing of the coachas ride.
a?Iam asking the entire Highlanders family to come forward and contribute cash towards the purchasing of the vehicle. As a club we are actually going through a difficult time. For example, we are still in arrears with regards to paying the playersa and coachesa winning bonuses.
At times we have been forced to pay the playersa winning bonuses only. This means we owe coachesa winning bonuses more than we do the players,a? he said.
Bosso have gone on a nine-match unbeaten run with their latest victory being against their bogey side ZPC Kariba.
