The Zambian expatriate has brought in a different attacking flair to Highlanders which has seen most clubs becoming cautious of the Bulawayo giants. Under Kaindu, Bosso top the Castle Lager Premiership log standings with 13 points from five games.
Highlanders are the only unbeaten team in the Premiership, a feat Kaindu is confident they will defend tomorrow.
Highlanders play host to Monomotapa at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow and following their impressive identical 3-1 away wins against FC Platinum and Black Mambas, more fans are expected at the venue.
A confident Kaindu did not hide the fact that his club was seeking glory and said despite conceding easy goals, they would compensate with scoring more against their opponents.
“We have been making some mistakes as we are building a team that will stand the heat as we do not want to be participants but we want to compete. As of goals that we have conceded, they have been out of mistakes but every team makes errors and we are not worried about that as we believe in attacking football and we will score more than our opponents,” Kaindu said. The Highlanders gaffer said despite being at the top of the log, they were not under any pressure and would take each game as it comes.
When the season started, very few thought that Highlanders would at anytime top the log and tomorrow they face a tricky Monomotapa that has already gunned down two of the three Zimbabwe soccer giants.
They have collected maximum points against Dynamos and Caps United whom they have beaten with identical 1-0 scorelines.
Monomotapa gaffer Taurai Mangwiro acknowledged that Highlanders had a good team and said they were ready for Bosso. “It will be good to beat Highlanders and complete the remarkable record as we did well against Dynamos and Caps United. But in Highlanders we know what we are up against. They have a formidable team this season,” Mangwiro told our Harare Bureau.
The Monomotapa gaffer last week spied on Highlanders at Morris Depot where Bosso clobbered Black Mambas 3-1. In that game Bosso got their goals from Masimba Mambare and a brace by Simon Munawa.
Monomotapa are two points behind Bosso having won three games, drawn twice and lost once.
Kaindu is likely to maintain the bulk of the players that have been giving him results tomorrow with goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda who had a nightmarish day the last time Bosso were at home in goal.
Skipper Innocent Mapuranga and his deputy Eric Mudzingwa have been integral cogs in central defence with the latter saying he is enjoying his new role. Atlast Musasa and Bruce Kangwa will complete the back four.
Former Monomotapa captain Mthulisi Maphosa who has established himself well at Highlanders, Peter “Rio” Moyo, Milton Ncube, Simon Munawa, Masimba Mambare and Heritein Masuku will battle for starting places in midfield.
Kaindu will either start Graham Ncube or Beavan Chikaka as a lone striker with juniors Ozias Zibande, Bobby Mpofu and Ryan Howes hoping to be on the bench and be introduced late in the second half.
Monomotapa’s players to watch include their anchorman Tendai “Tengo” Ngulube, Tawanda Nyamandwe, Fidelis Mangezi and Kuda Musharu.
In Hwange, Nation Dube will be hoping to put last weekend’s debacle at the back of his mind when he faces Black Mambas. He was a victim of thug behaviour by Dynamos marshals who assaulted him before the match with his assistant.
