HIGHLANDERS are charging into Kariba this weekend on a grand mission – to smash a decade-long jinx and finally silence ZPC Kariba at their Nyamhunga fortress.
Kelvin Kaindu believes the curse-breaking crew is ready for battle.
“Last season we couldn’t touch teams like Bikita Minerals, Yadah and FC Platinum, they had our number.
“But this year, we’ve flipped the script. We’ve taken points from all three. Now we want to ride that momentum and change the away narrative.”
Bosso have not won at Nyamhunga, for 10 years.
“We haven’t been great travellers, that’s no secret. But our last trip to Yadah showed what we’re capable of. We scored two and could’ve had more.
“That’s the spark we need,” he said.
Talent Dube and Gillian Nyathi are OUT after picking up knocks in the 1-1 draw against FC Platinum at Barbourfields.
“Sadly, we picked up injuries last weekend,” Kaindu confirmed.
“Talent and Gillian are not in the squad for Kariba.”
He expects a tough battle.
“They’ve been consistent. I liked how they played last season and they’ve carried that form. They’re scoring goals and hard to break at home.
“But maybe the cold will help us this time, no weather excuses.”
