Bosso fans ‘return favour’ to players

THE Highlanders FC train hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down as it has kept on the rails for 16 games.
The team sits comfortably at the top of the 2023 Castle Larger Premier Soccer League log.

The Bulawayo giants are the only side yet to taste defeat in the league and are four points clear at the top with 34 while second placed Ngezi Platinum side is on 30 points.

This past weekend when they edged Manica Diamonds who are in third place, 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium, Bosso made it five wins on the trot and have given hope to their faithfuls. The team has been delivering throughout the season and fans are thanking them by coming in their numbers to attend matches.

After a hard day’s work on the training field yesterday, Highlanders players were treated to a braai lunch by a group of fans who decided to return the favour to the side that has ‘kept them happy’ throughout the season.

The luncheon was at Kelvin Restaurant and was attended by Bosso players and staff.
The fans who decided to appreciate the team’s success and good run this season through the lunch date were Mbesuma Nkomazana, Jabulani Ndlovu, Nhlanhla Bango Dube, Pride Nkomo, Thamu Mzizi, Faith Moyo, Dumi Mathe, Xander and Noe Ncube.

The restaurant owner, Xolani Mathe also chipped in.
“As fans we are very simple, if you make us proud and do good for us, we will return the favour and that is why we organised this lunch,” said Nkomazana.

Yesterday’s lunch was a present to the team for the effort and it was greatly appreciated by the club leadership.
Highlanders’ Vice Chairperson, Fiso Siziba expressed his gratitude to the organisers and the support they have been showing the club in the past. He also encouraged players to keep on working hard.

“Thank you very much to the hosts who remembered that after today’s workout, we get food and energy. This was not the first time partnering with Highlanders and let’s keep it up.

“I also thank you players for the effort you have made so far. Your commitment has led to you being hosted like this and let us pay them back with all that we have on the field,” said Siziba.

After a hard fought victory against Manica Diamonds on Sunday, Bosso will face another tough task for their week 17 fixtures as they travel to Baobab Stadium to face fellow title contenders, Ngezi Platinum Stars. – @brandon_malvin
