THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) enters its last lap with eight teams still fighting to avoid the chop, as the 2025 season boils to a nerve-shredding finish.

Weeks after Scottland FC wrapped up the championship with two games to spare, it’s not looking pretty for some of the league’s traditional powerhouses. Highlanders, Chicken Inn, and their long-time rivals Dynamos are all in the danger zone as the relegation storm brews.

“This is my first time as a coach to be in such a predicament. It’s really painful,” said Chicken Inn gaffer Joey Antipas, whose side faces Highlanders in their final fixture of the season.
Chicken Inn and Bosso are both tied on 38 points, with Kwekwe United already relegated.

“It’s going to be a dog-eat-dog fight this coming week. No favours, no what-ifs. It will be a real battle and hopefully we get it right on the day,” added Antipas.
Before the final match, the teams still sweating for survival are Highlanders, Chicken Inn, Manica Diamonds, Dynamos, Greenfuel, Bikita Minerals and Yadah Stars.

Bosso sit 10th on the log with 38 points and a +1 goal difference, while Chicken Inn share the same points but have a -2 goal difference. Manica Diamonds are also on 38, with a -4 goal tally, followed by Dynamos, Triangle United, Bikita Minerals, Greenfuel and Yadah FC.

Since four teams face relegation, the bottom four after the final whistle will go down. Kwekwe United, stuck on 10 points, are already doomed, even if they win their last game.
Here’s how it stands going into the final weekend:
l Highlanders, Chicken Inn, Dynamos and Manica Diamonds can reach 41 points with a win.
l Triangle and Bikita can hit 40 points at best.
l Greenfuel can get to 39, while Yadah can only reach 38.
Any team finishing between 38 and 39 points risks the drop, where goal difference will decide who lives and who dies.
The final match day is shaping up to be pure football theatre, where giants could crumble and underdogs might just survive the storm.
