Bosso stand firm on US$200k Tshuma valuation

HIGHLANDERS have stuck to their US$200 000 valuation of sought-after midfielder Mongameli Tshuma despite receiving formal interest from CAPS United and FC Hunters.

Sources close to the negotiations say Bosso are prepared to listen to offers only if they exceed the club’s valuation, underlining their determination not to lose one of their prized assets on the cheap.
“Highlanders value Mongameli at US$200 000 and that position has not changed. The club is willing to entertain offers above that valuation, but anything below it is unlikely to be accepted,” said a source.

The development comes after CAPS United president Farai Jere confirmed his club had tabled an official offer for the Warriors midfielder.

Jere revealed that the proposal would see CAPS United secure Tshuma’s signature before immediately loaning him back to Highlanders until the end of the current season, with the player joining the Harare giants ahead of the 2027 campaign.

“We have put our offer to Highlanders. They are looking at it, and it’s being discussed. If we get the player, we will loan him back to Highlanders,” Jere told ZTN.
“We will pay the transfer fee and his salary will be paid by CAPS United.

“That’s our offer, but I won’t reveal the figures. Those are some of the conditions we have put in the offer because we want him for next year.”

However, Chronicle understands CAPS United’s proposal is worth around US$100 000, coupled with the season-long loan arrangement, well below Highlanders’ asking price.

FC Hunters have also entered the race for the talented midfielder, with sources indicating the ambitious side has pledged US$50 000, another offer that falls significantly short of Bosso’s valuation
