BOSSO TO THE BONE! Kezi superfan dies in sleep

Lovemore Dube

HIGHLANDERS FC has lost one of its most loyal supporters, Lister Dube, whose homestead stood out with a giant Bosso flag and two club logos painted proudly on her gate wall.

Dube (68) died in her sleep on Tuesday morning after a long battle with a spinal problem that required surgery.
She has been supporting Bosso since 1972, 43 years ago.

“She said when she dies, Highlanders should be notified. She loved Highlanders and appreciated children a great deal,” said her cousin, Agnes Siziba.

Dube’s love affair with Bosso began in 1972 and grew stronger with the rise of players from her Makokoba neighbourhood, including Madinda Ndlovu and later Adam and Peter Ndlovu.

At her Natisa home in Matobo, she opened her heart and home to 17 children, helping them with their upkeep, education and welfare.

Her death has left both the Highlanders family and the Natisa community mourning a woman who lived and breathed black and white.
