After successfully facilitating former British boxer Kell Brook’s recent visit, the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (ZNBWCB) has registered Proma Events Africa as one of the new promoters.

Led by charismatic events management guru Blessing Jeke, the stable has been endorsed for its commitment to the empowerment of boxers.

Besides endorsing Proma Events Africa, ZNBWCB general secretary Priscilla Kadungure hailed the new stable for facilitating Brook’s visit.

“On behalf of the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, I wish to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for your efforts in inviting and facilitating the visit by Kell Brook, British former professional boxer, to Zimbabwe.

“Kell Brook’s visit was a significant milestone for the development and promotion of boxing in Zimba-bwe. His interaction with local boxers, coaches, officials and boxing enthusiasts provided invaluable inspiration and motivation to the boxing fraternity,” said Kadungure

“The panel discussion held at Mudiwa Hood Arena enabled our athletes to learn from a former world champion and gain insights into the discipline, dedication and professionalism required to succeed at the highest level of the sport.

“We greatly appreciate your commitment and dedication in making this historic visit possible. We look forward to working together on future initiatives.”

The 40-year-old, who lost only three bouts out of 40, toured Gwanda, Masvingo and Harare during his visit.

He held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight title from 2014 to 2017 and challenged once for a unified middleweight world title in 2016.
