BREAKING: Bulawayo Councillor Mpumelelo Moyo granted bail pending appeal

The High Court of Zimbabwe has granted Bulawayo’s ward 26 councillor Mpumelelo Moyo US$200 bail pending appeal.

Moyo had been found guilty of bribery charges for allegedly demanding US$20,000 from Labenmon Investments in exchange for land to construct a cement mixing plant in Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park suburb.

He was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.
