CHIEF Mphini of Bulilima district in Matabeleland South has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC) over as yet to be officially confirmed charges.
However, sources close to the development said the traditional leader was arrested for illegally selling land reserved as grazing land for Ward 21 villagers.
More than 80 people are said to have been settled in the area with locals expressing concern that most of the beneficiaries are not from the district or the province.
Without revealing much, ZACC Commissioner Kindness Paradza confirmed the arrest of Chief Mphini.
“We will be issuing details soon but yes, we have arrested the Chief,” said Comm Paradza.
