Highlanders have reportedly given former Warriors captain and Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari a head coach position and are set to pay off South African national Thabo Senong, it has been established.

According to close sources, the sensational developments took place in Harare on Tuesday after club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe and his deputy Fiso Siziba drove to the capital to meet benefactor and businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

“Benjie is the new Highlanders dressing room sheriff. He has signed the contract and from the looks of it, the club may pay off Senong. Chivayo made it clear that Bosso may go ahead with the Senong deal, but he won’t release a single dime,” said the source.

Another source said Chivayo also promised to release pre-season training camp financial aid for the Bulawayo giants and an undisclosed amount for the club to sign quality players so as to be able to compete for honours.
