There is no foul play in Barnabas Mandipota’s death, according to post-mortem results.
Family spokesperson and elder brother of the former Orchestra Mberikwazvo backing vocalist and drummer, Fastmore Mandipota, cleared the air ahead of the choreographer’s burial at Kadoma Hospital Cemetery on Wednesday.
Family and friends have been curious to ascertain the cause of Barnabas’ death after he was found with a deep wound around the neck.
“The doctors advised us that he developed a boil on the neck, which was left unattended for months, leading to complications,” he said.
“The doctor advised us that the pus-filled bump was now affecting his lungs since it had spread throughout his entire body.
“We were told that he was having breathing problems which led to his death.”
