Langalakhe Mabena

Veteran actor Aleck Zulu, best known for his role as “Skoro” on the beloved series Amakorokoza, has died at the age of 54.

The cause of his death remains unclear, but his passing has been confirmed by his brother in the arts, Memory Kumbota.

“When uBhud’ Smart retired and returned home to Zambia, he asked me to look after his boy since we shared the same work. I don’t know if I could have, should have, or must have done better.

“Aleck is gone. Only yesterday, we were discussing his rehearsal for the Passion play with youngsters at St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. His final act was doing God’s work. Rest in peace, mfanawami,” Kumbota wrote on his Facebook timeline.
