THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair’s official opening which was scheduled for Friday in Bulawayo has been shifted to Saturday at 10AM due to unpredictable weather in East Africa.

Kenyan President William Ruto is scheduled to be the guest of honour at the 64th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

ZITF Company board chairman Mr Busisa Moyo confirmed the latest development.

He said while President Ruto was expected in the country earlier, it is no longer possible due to weather conditions.

Mr Moyo insisted that President Ruto is still coming for the annual trade showcase.

Heavy rain has pounded Kenya in recent days, causing widespread devastation.

The UN says that at least 32 people have lost their lives and more than 40,000 have been forced from their homes because of the rain and flooding.
