SURELY, the last days predicted in the bible in Matthew 10 v 21 are upon us.
A 25-year-old Tsholotsho man has been charged with attempted murder allegedly attacking his biological brother with an axe following a heated dispute over missing property and money.
Somandla Moyo, of Norman Mafu’s homestead along the Pelandaba line, appeared before Taurai Manwere at the Bulawayo Magistrates Court. He was remanded in custody to March 13 and was not asked to plead to attempted murder.
According to allegations presented to the court, the incident happened on December 15, 2025, at Norman Mafu’s homestead. Somandla and his brother Marshall Moyo had just returned from the business centre when trouble started.
Marshall accused Somandla of stealing his property and money.
Prosecutors allege that Somandla, clearly unhappy with the accusation, reacted violently. He allegedly attacked Marshall, punching him several times all over the body.
The situation escalated from fists to farming tools. Somandla is accused of striking his brother twice on the head with an axe.
Marshall sustained a deep cut to the head in the attack. Despite the family connection, he reported the matter to the police, setting the wheels of justice in motion.
Police arrested Somandla soon after, bringing an abrupt end to a dispute that turned dangerously physical.
The matter will return to court on March 13 as Somandla remains in custody.
