FOR the past year, the feud between former Highlanders star Bruce Tshuma and model Dudu Phakathi was a case of a tornado hitting a volcano and this saw their marriage rough sailing and failing to find a safe harbour to anchor. The ravaging clash saw Phakathi turning her facebook wall into a battlefield where she constantly threw tantrums at Tshuma accusing him of cheating on her with an older woman, a few days after giving birth to their child. In simple terms Phakathi announced the end of their marriage.
Not only did she charge at Tshuma, she also gave a rude awakening to the woman in question, whose name was not stated.
In another publication, Phakathi, who confirmed that her marriage to Tshuma was going down the drain and that their on and off marriage had turned into a saga, sucking in a number of people, also confirmed that Tshuma was promiscuous.
Many were also of the view that Tshuma like many other footballers was not an exception to promiscuity and never thought the couple would reconcile but alas, they have triumphed over adversity.
And much to the amazement of many Phakathi has suddenly popped up on her accustomed stress relief platform, facebook, declaring her undying love for the former soccer player, stating that he was the reason she breathes.
“I love you because you’re what inspire the sun to rise each morning. It’s the thought of you that encourages me to crawl out of bed with a smile on my face each morning. Keep Rocking!!” she said.
This statement was backed by pictures of the two lovers knitted into each other, perhaps reflecting how their hearts had resumed beating as one.
A caption to one of the pictures she posted, “What God has joined together . . .”
Comments from their friends and relatives welcomed their reconciliation and made true the Biblical quotation, “What God has put together, no man should put asunder.”
Some of the comments on facebook read, “Let no woman separate”, “ let no man separate”, “ you guys are eish, I do not know what to say but frankly speaking, you are the couple of the year, you rock”, “ lovely couple, Bruce you are following your brother’s footsteps.”
Tshuma also responded to these comments, saying he was indeed following in the footsteps of his brother, who is probably married too when he wrote: “Sho bra, you led by example”.
Contacted for comment, Tshuma buttressed it all, confirming that he was still in a relationship with Phakathi and that they were still married, despite the glitches they have had in the past.
“We are back together but as you know it is a process,” he said.
Dudu is out of the country and could not be contacted for comment.
