AN exciting Bulawayo Social Soccer League season finale — the Champion of Champions tournament — will be held on 18 December at Njube Desert Ground.
The tournament will feature teams that came out top of the groups of the league, A, B and C. It will determine the eventual champions of the league which boasts of about 60 teams drawn from across the city.

According to the BSSL chairman, Ntandoyenkosi Sibindi, this is a unique event in the history of the league.
“The 2022 edition of Champions of Champions is a unique event in BSSL history. It is the first time to have three champions locking horns in this apex event, previously, only two participated.
The league is increasing and there are awards to cover all the three champions. Previously it was winner takes all,” said Sibindi.
He said the tournament will be played in a round robin format with the team finishing top crowned kings of social soccer.

Sibindi is also inviting members of the corporate world to come on board and support the league, which provides entertainment to the whole city and also helps build community coherence through sport.
With the league eligible for persons aged 28 and above, it is also home to a host of retired professional footballers.
“We invite social partners in this project. I believe the league can contribute to social issues like ending gender-based violence and many other community well-being projects.
I invite the Bulawayo community to join us at Desert in Njube for the Champion of Champions event.
We welcome those who want to advertise or sell their products at the event to contact the league’s treasurer, we have spaces available for such services,” explained the BSSL chairman.
