A BUILDER is being accused of raping the daughter of a man whose house he was building in Belvedere, Harare.
Munyaradzi Shingirayi, also known as GoodHope, has been arrested.
He was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa charged with rape.
Prosecutors allege that on October 27, at around 9am, the complainant’s mother left home to buy some food.
She left her daughter at home.
Shingirayi, who was busy at work, was in the company of the child.
He approached her and proposed love to her.
The complainant refused and told him that she was still a minor child. Moments later the complainant went in her cellphone and he followed her into the cabin.
He closed the door and allegedly raped her.
The court heard that two days after the first attack, Shingirayi dragged the minor child into the toilet and allegedly raped her again.
The matter came to light after the complainant narrated her story to her friends who then told the complainant’s mother and a police report was filed.
Shingirayi was remanded in custody to November 25 and was advised to approach the High Courg for bail considerations as he is facing a third schedule offence.
