The City of Bulawayo on Thursday held a stakeholder consultative meeting to present the written statement for Local Development Plan (LDP) 14 and the Reports of Study for Local Development Plans 6 and 21, as part of efforts to guide the city’s future growth and land use.

In a statement, City of Bulawayo spokesperson, Mrs Nesisa Mpofu, said the meeting brought together councillors, council management, residents and other stakeholders to review the proposed plans, which are intended to promote sustainable development in the city’s western, northern and south-eastern areas.

Bulawayo Mayor, Senator David Coltart, underscored the importance of public participation, saying residents’ contributions are essential in shaping the city’s development policies.

He encouraged residents to study the proposed plans and submit their views to council before the plans are finalised.

Town Clerk, Mr Christopher Dube, assured stakeholders that all comments and submissions received during the consultation process would be carefully considered.

He said the city remains committed to an inclusive and consultative planning process that reflects the aspirations and needs of Bulawayo residents.
