THE Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) successfully held a referees’ clinic ahead of the resumption of league games this coming weekend.
A total of 21 officials underwent the training programme conducted by internationally certified referee Ignatius Yesaya.
The clinic was meant to ensure the standards of officiating in the league remain at the top level.
BBA secretary-general Francis Dube said the clinic was a huge success.
“The idea is to re-tool our referees as well as being to have more players in the field. Invitations for participants to the clinic were extended to stakeholders in the game which include primary and secondary schools.
“Naph and Nash are responsible for the organisation of the game at primary and secondary levels respectively. BBA’s idea is to recruit teachers and administrators from these organisations on stream and help boost the development of the game in primary and secondary schools,” said Dube.
