A 46-YEAR-OLD Mzilikazi man has been arrested after police investigations allegedly linked him to two outstanding cases of theft from parked motor vehicles in Bulawayo.

Dennis Dzingai Bariri, also known as Gumbie, was arrested on 6 October 2026 in connection with a separate theft-from-motor-vehicle case.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said further investigations revealed that Bariri was also wanted in connection with two other alleged thefts from parked vehicles.

In the first outstanding case, which occurred on 1 May 2026 along Fife Street, between 10th and 11th Avenue, the suspect allegedly opened a parked vehicle and stole cellphones and cash.

The second incident occurred on 25 July 2026 at the Palace Hotel parking bay, where he allegedly opened a parked vehicle and stole an HP laptop, various items of clothing and fuel coupons worth 140 litres.

Insp Msebele said police investigations had established the suspect’s alleged links to the two outstanding cases.

Bariri is facing allegations of theft from motor vehicles, and the cases remain subject to due process of the law.
