MUTARE-BASED gospel musician Dorcas Moyo is set to launch her 11th album, Korona Yeimvi, on October 31, in an event she hopes will also create opportunities for emerging artistes.

The 10-track album was recorded at Kunashe Studios and follows the success of her 2025 release, Mugeri Tsvatu, which performed well on gospel radio charts and strengthened her position as one of Zimbabwe’s leading gospel musicians.

The launch will feature a star-studded line-up, including Alick Macheso, Feli Nandi, Hosiah Chipanga, Leonard Zhakata and Fungisai Zvakavapano.

Emerging artistes Africa Praise, Cloris Machuwaire, Tinashe Murigo and Mai Anderson will also perform, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent to a wider audience.

Moyo said preparations for the launch were progressing well despite some challenges, adding that supporting upcoming artistes was an important part of her plans.

“The preparations for the album launch are progressing well. We are considering every aspect to ensure a successful event. We are also facing some challenges, but we are working through them as the day approaches.

“It is part of our strategy to nurture and groom upcoming talent. In line with that goal, we decided to give emerging artistes an opportunity to showcase their potential,” she said.

Moyo also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the new album, which is nearing completion.

“The album itself is 98 percent complete, with one track, Mashoko, featuring Feli Nandi, already receiving airplay. We have released a video for the song and will also work on videos for Musaenda Kure and Moyo Wakusuwa. Videos for Rurimi and Korona Yeimvi are scheduled to be produced after the album’s release,” she said.
