RESIDENTS of Bulawayo and stakeholders have been encouraged to use water sparingly to help maintain supplies while restoration efforts continue.

This follows the continued interruption of supplies due to rain-related power outages.

In a notice, the City of Bulawayo town clerk, Mr Christopher Dube, said Zetdc is attending to the affected electricity infrastructure.

“The power outages are due to lightning strikes to the electricity infrastructure, affecting pumping, delivery of raw water and water treatment,” read the notice.

“The situation has destabilised reservoir levels across all distribution networks, contributing to the city failing to adhere to its water shedding schedule.”
