MBERENGWA parents have welcomed a US$3 million investment in modern educational infrastructure at Mukamba Primary and High Boarding Schools, a development projected to elevate rural access to quality education.

The massive construction project, which is nearing completion in the Mberengwa Central constituency, is being spearheaded by the local Member of Parliament, Tinashe Shumba.

Infrastructure developments at Mukamba Primary School comprise five classroom blocks and an administrative complex, whilst Mukamba High Boarding School is receiving seven classroom blocks alongside an administration block.

“The schools are meant to complement Government efforts in providing adequate educational infrastructure and ensuring that every community has access to sufficient schools in line with Vision 2030,” Shumba stated, adding that the funding aims to support state initiatives to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban learners.

Community members noted that the modern facilities will alleviate overcrowding, create a highly conducive learning environment, and improve long-term educational outcomes within the district.

Independent analysts point to the project as a prime example of private and legislative capital increasingly driving rural infrastructure expansion to assist the state in public service delivery.
