LOSING Zanu – PF aspiring candidate for Bulawayo central constituency Cde Tendai Charuka has urged the Citizens for Coalition Change Candidates to consider the livelihoods of vendors, whom he says council should strive to protect by developing sanctioned places of operation.

Cde Charuka held a “thank you” rally last Thursday in Bulawayo for party supporters whom he said voted for President Mnangagwa to lead the country on a Second term, as well as other winning candidates.

“We want to thank you on behalf of the President. The outcome was your vote. We want to assure you as Zanu-PF cadres that we will never stop working and delivering to the people of Zimbabwe. We are initiated and will always be.  The projects that our President initiated will not stop and believe me when I say we are headed for a prosperous Zimbabwe. Vision 2030 will be attained,” said Cde Charuka.

Cde Charuka who was vying for the Bulawayo Central National Assembly seat said he had no hard feelings and promised to push President Mnangagwa’s vision of attaining an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.

“The elections have come and gone. The outcome is the people’s choice and we respect that as a party. I would like to congratulate Mr Surrender Kapoikulu (CCC) for his victory. Let me also mention that we are prepared to work with those elected because when it comes to development, we are not identified by political parties because as citizens we should all contribute,” said Cde Charuka.

He said there were no sour grapes between him and the elected leads.

“It’s done and this is the will and choice of the people. There is no need to dispute that. Let’s show our unity to and work to grow our economy as a united people,” he said.

Cde Charuka said the party structures in Bulawayo are willing to work with the opposition, however according to a catch.

“We acknowledge the mayor and his councilors, we believe they will work towards Bulawayo’s revival and development. What we would love for them to do is acknowledge President Mnangagwa as the leader of this Free State.

“Our vendors are here to stay. They are here to sell their wares just like every other citizen in the country. Vendors have been behind our country’s economy, they contribute a lot, so there is a need to consider developing places for them in the CBD. We have a mayor who is a good leader but he has to acknowledge President Mnangagwa as the leader of this country. The electorate decided and made the pace,” said Cde Charuka.

He said providing conducive operating places for vendors was the responsibility of the council.

Cde Charuka now is the time to put grievances aside and work for a better Bulawayo, while also looking at a better future for Zimbabwe.

“Let us be united as we always have been and let us show what Zimbabwean means,”
