Bulawayo City hand Zim Saints first defeat

Zimbabwe Saints 1-2 Bulawayo City 

THE battle of the former Premiership outfits pitting Zimbabwe Saints and Bulawayo City ended with the latter walking away with the bragging rights in a Zifa Southern Region Division One encounter played at White City Stadium yesterday.

Saints had been unbeaten in their opening five games, winning four and drawing once.

City were quick off the blocks and went into the lead through a Sibusiso Ndlovu header inside the first 10 minutes of the game.

Godknows Basket doubled the lead in the 19th minute, slotting home from close range.

Chauya Chikwata pulled one back through Nicholas Ndoro six minutes before the break.

The result meant that ZPC Hwange, who beat Jordan Sinnot 2-1 on Saturday now enjoy a five-point lead over Saints and Mainline, who are second and third respectively.

Both Saints and Mainline are on 13 points, while ZPC Hwange is on 18.
